Since the age of one, when his mother placed a radio in his crib to keep him company and quiet his soul, by age three he was operating the family stereo. He is a self-taught keyboardist who loves all facets of music; from strings to horns; from classical to old skool R&B; Barry White to Bach – all of which had an influence on his passionate and connection with music

At the age of eight he started rhyming, and by 11, he was deejaying. He was so good by the age thirteen he was spinning  for teenage parties and even older adult. He was very well respected for his talents by the community. Contageous grandfather was his number one supporter and always provided encouragment. He purchased the music equipment and supported his dreams. By the time he was sixteen he was making his own beats and combining his lyrics to beats he made on the keyboard.

Contageous always had and still have a never ending grind.  While in high school he did vinyl pick ups at record labels for himself and other deejays, and shopped his demos all at the same time.  By the time Contageous was a sophmore in high school he formed his own rap group Ruff Edgz with some neighborhood friends, and their first single “Crack Brokers” was destined to be a chart topper, so their manager at the time Sam Wayman,  broke the deal for them with Atlantic. Juggling several task as a teen his grades slipped, and eventually the group, disbanded due to conflicting loyalties.

Priortizing was what he did at the time because his education was important to him, so once he got back on track with getting his grade up he enrolled at the Institute of Audio Research, where he learned the art of engineering, and gained a lot of exposure into the inner workings and technical aspects of the art of music production.  Contagous started his own publishing company called 21st Century Rhymes, which would later lead to contageous starting his own production company called Rocktown Entertainment to finally starting his own record label with his cousin called Real Street Records in 2001.

In 1999, he wrote his first released solo album, “Key to Life”, which was a follow up to an unreleased Album called Designated Rhymer. That led to Contageous getting some airplay on New Yorks’ Hot 97.1, and in 2004, his second album “Dedicated” was another hit.  As many artist do he had a setback, However; In 2009, he was back releasing his third album “Convict to Corporate”, and his fourth album “The Cure.”  In 2011 the album hit the airwaves and gained popularity with radio stations and the public. In 2013 he released an EP “The Check Up” , and most recently NYPD released in 2018 under Real street Records and distributed by SRG/UMG.

Contageous wants to expand and expound on his talent, and utilize his versatility to bring back what he truly appreciates and admires in music; the production, arrangement, and overall creativity, yet remain current and be a trendsetter all while getting his message out. If you are wondering who is the next big thing look no further because Contageous is about to rock the nation.
